چکیده

The humeroulnar joint is a uniaxial, diarthrodial modified hinge joint. Motion ranges from 0° to 150° and occurs through a rotational axis in the center of the trochlea, in the coronal plane. At the extremes of flexion and extension, limited degrees of internal and external rotation are present (1). The distal humerus has two components-the trochlea medially and the capitellum laterally. Diagrams show the distal humerus anterior (Fig. 2A), posterior (Fig. 2B), and axial (Fig. 2C) planes. The trochlea is spool-shaped and is covered with articular cartilage from the edge of the olecranon fossa posteriorly to the coronoid fossa anteriorly, a surface area covering approximately 300° to 330° (2). Study of Variation of the J-integral and the Fracture Toughness in Blunt V-notches under Mode I Loading

Fracture assessment of U- and V-notches is important in mechanical engineering. One can use the J-integral as fracture parameter in order to predict the critical fracture load in notches. The critical value of the J-integral in cracks is a function of the material properties. In notches, however, the material properties as well as the notch dimensions affect this critical value (named fracture ...

The Effect of Inclined U-Notch Geometry on Mode Ratio (KII/KI) under Mixed Mode (I + II) Loading

In inclined U-notches, the mixed mode (I + II) loading occurs and the mode ratio can be increased by varying the notch angle. In this paper, the effect of the inclined U-notch geometry, i.e. the notch depth, the notch angle, the notch root radius, and the position of the notch with respect to supports, on the mode ratio (KII/KI) have been studied. Three-point bending and plane strain condition ...

Clinical application of scalp markers and three-dimensional sliced computer tomography reconstructions of the skull transverse-sigmoid sinus groove in the retrosigmoid approach.

AIM To explore the clinical value of bone flap creation and the sinus protection in the approach of retrosigmoid keyhole craniotomy with the guidance of three-dimensional (3D) sliced computer tomography (CT) reconstruction of the skull transverse sinus and sigmoid sinus groove. MATERIAL AND METHODS The scalp tracings of the transverse sinus and sigmoid sinus groove of 108 posterior fossa lesi...

Differentiation of transverse sinus thrombosis from congenitally atretic cerebral transverse sinus with CT.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Transverse sinus thrombosis can have nonspecific clinical and radiographic signs. We hypothesized that the novel "sigmoid notch sign" (on head CT) can help differentiate transverse sinus thrombosis from a congenitally atretic sinus among individuals with absent signal in 1 transverse sinus by MR venography. METHODS We retrospectively evaluated 53 subjects with a unilate...

Sigmoid notch osseous reconstruction.

The purpose of this article is to describe a technique of restoring stability or congruency to the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) by osteoplasty or osteotomy of the sigmoid notch, where abnormalities in the osseous anatomy have resulted in DRUJ instability. This technique addresses the osseous cause to DRUJ instability and avoids the need for complex soft tissue procedures to treat chronic vola...
